DELIA MARR is widely considered one of England’s foremost dog painters and with very good reason. Her long-standing love affair with dogs, combined with her passion for painting will produce for you a portrait of your dog, or dogs, that not only captures the very essence of the soul, but also ensures that you become the owner of a beautiful work of art.

Delia has been painting steadily for the past 30 years, so there are not many breeds of dog she hasn’t seen and immortalised. She boasts a large, impressive domestic and international clientele, with many of her clients returning for more. A tribute to her outstanding talent! Delia has worked with both the BBC and Meridian Television, participating in programmes which have highlighted her work.

Understanding the busy lives led by most of her clients, Delia likes to make the procedures attendant on her commissions as smooth and unobtrusive as possible. Her initial and often only visit to the subject of her portrait, is to meet and get to know and understand the appearance and character of her new friend(s). She usually works in collaboration with her photographer, Marc Henrie, accredited photographer to the Kennel Club and one of the best in the business. While Marc takes his photographs, Delia makes careful and extensive notes regarding the details of fur, skin, distinctive marks, colouring, etc.

The next part of the process is the selection of the best photograph from which Delia can start to create the magic of her paintings.
